Social & Business Groups

Social and business have had a lot of fun on our "soft" adventure experiences. All of our kayaking adventures are about having fun with friends while experiencing a new way of travelling through the Adelaide regions most spectacular natural environments. We can devise a program to suit the outcomes of your group. Programs can be devised to be an easy paced journey along the wetlands while hearing some stories about the sights you will see through to challenging initiative, team building and leadership sessions. We are keen to share and enjoy the best possible experience with you group on the day by talking it through with you beforehand.

The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is part of the Port River Estuary. It is one of Adelaide's "secret spots" and is an area of incredible beauty and ecological importance. The sheltered, tree lined creeks of this area are an ideal environment for a kayaking adventure and has so much on offer for your group to explore. The old growth mangrove forests of this area are home to a fascinating array of marine life, birds and of course the Port River Dolphins- these inquisitive dolphins usually come and say hello!

Our tours are ideal for groups as double sea kayaks are very comfortable and user friendly. They are very stable and have rudders for steering. Novices are very safe and the effort of paddling is shared between two people. Our tours and team building sessions are at participant pace.

I would suggest that a 2 hour guided tour adventure is best for first time social/business groups. This tour takes in the Garden Island area and Maritime Heritage Trail (Ships Graveyard). The tour is easily tailored to your needs. The tour fee for 12-20 participants would be $40-00 per person (plus GST).

Our guided "Adventure Tour" is another option. This experience is approximately 3 hours duration. The tour has numerous stops for some story telling about the fascinating environment that surrounds us as we paddle along. Plenty of time to catch some great photos and sightseeing. It explores both the mangrove environment and the ships graveyard. The tour fee for 12-20 participants would be $50-00 per person (plus GST).

We call our team building programs the "Disaster Class!" This is a tongue in cheek title and is related to the inspiration behind our program. Blue Water Sea Kayaking guides have been involved in many challenging sea kayaking adventures including three crossings of the notorious Bass Strait, paddling from Pt. Lincoln to Adelaide, circumnavigation of Kangaroo Island to name a few. As a sea kayaker you have limited resources when confronted with the challenges that the sea can throw at you. A few simple pieces of rescue equipment, your own skill, initiative and mental toughness! Our program is based on the real life challenges we have faced in our adventures at sea! The program is a balance of exploring the sensational environment of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, introducing some of the rescues and strategies we have used at sea, and then "dropping" your team into some of the scenarios we have encountered. We then review your team's response. Sounds intimidating...perhaps so...but it is a huge amount of fun!! Prices for this program are negotiable.

Full day programs, including catering, are also possible incorporating and environmental adventure as above plus initiate and team building activities. Prices for this program are negotiable. Any of our tours including the Rapid Bay Sea Caves and the Coorong National Park can offered to business groups.
